利用适合顾客需要的印刷方法,在经过挤压机层压加工制成的纸盒用卡纸表面进行印刷加工。主要的印刷方法包括凹印和胶印,大批量的场合采用凹印,小批量的场合采用胶印,不过有时是按满足设计的要求来选择印刷方法的。印刷完毕的卡纸经模压模切制成所需的展开形状,接着通过一台火焰密封设备,利用其气体火焰使聚乙烯熔融在卡纸正反面的纸边部分,将卡纸正反面的边缘相互粘合而制成纸盒。

对于咖啡、饮料类的对纸具有高渗透性的内容物而言,纸盒的边缘部一旦与饮料等接触,就会因内物液体的渗透使纸盒的强度变差,产生泄漏乃至损坏。因此,通过粘贴纸带或者将纸折叠来防止纸边缘与内容物液体相接触。通过这样的方法,加上前面提到的增加阻隔性能的结构,保证了饮料纸杯能在常温下的流通以及长期保存。

使用铝箔虽然为纸盒饮料的长期保存提供了可能,但会造成原纸的再生困难、还会导致焚烧纸容器时其中的铝箔损坏焚烧炉的事故发生。通过采用替代铝箔的阻隔材料,可以实现既能环保又能长期保存的全面要求。典型的替代用阻隔材料如EVO( 乙烯醋酸乙烯共聚物)和硅真空镀膜。
